- **Investigate and analyse data:** Dive deep into data warehouses and other operational data stores to understand their structure, identify issues, and perform ad-hoc data extractions. A comprehensive understanding of the end-to-end architecture within your assigned functional domain will be essential.
- **Ensure data quality:** Conduct thorough quality assurance checks on existing and newly introduced data sets and pipelines. Your aim will be to detect inconsistencies and anomalies, guiding data cleansing initiatives and problem resolution efforts.
- **Support stakeholders:** Utilise advanced data querying and discovery skills to address immediate analytical needs for both internal teams and external partners. This includes supporting their strategic objectives and operational requirements.
- **Define and build reports:** Clearly articulate reporting needs and translate them into functional operational reports and strategic dashboards that provide valuable insights.
What they're looking for

- A practical understanding of data processing and storage principles.
- Hands-on experience with relational database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redshift, SQL Server).
- Demonstrated ability to write complex SQL queries for data retrieval, analysis, and modelling.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- **Problem-solving:** A critical thinker capable of navigating ambiguity and tight deadlines, demonstrating resilience under pressure.
- **Proactiveness:** A self-starter with the ability to independently discover and comprehend intricate data domains.
- **Familiarity with tools:** Experience working with version control systems like Git (specifically GitHub) and project management tools such as Jira, or similar platforms.
