About the Role

As a Test Analyst at Ozow, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the quality and reliability of the company's software products. You will be an integral part of the development lifecycle, contributing to the successful delivery of robust and high-performing applications. This position requires a blend of both manual and automated testing expertise, allowing you to apply your skills across various testing methodologies. You'll play a crucial role in identifying and resolving defects, ensuring that all software meets stringent quality standards before deployment.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will encompass a wide range of testing activities, all conducted within an agile framework. You will be instrumental in:

• **Executing comprehensive test plans:** This includes developing and implementing test strategies tailored to the project's needs, ensuring all aspects of the software are thoroughly examined.
• **Managing testing throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC):** From initial requirements gathering to final release, you will oversee the testing process, ensuring that quality is a priority at every stage.
• **Mapping functional requirements to test cases:** You will translate business needs and technical specifications into detailed, actionable test scenarios.
• **Automating manual tests:** A key aspect of this role is to identify opportunities to automate repetitive testing tasks, thereby increasing efficiency and coverage. You'll be involved in the design and creation of test scripts for this purpose.
• **Performing various types of testing:** This includes, but is not limited to, acceptance testing, regression testing (to ensure new changes haven't broken existing functionality), functional testing (verifying features work as intended), and stress testing (to understand system behaviour under extreme load).
• **Collaborating with stakeholders:** You'll liaise with developers, product owners, and other team members to address any testing-related issues and discuss potential application enhancements.
• **Conducting risk-based testing and prioritisation:** Focusing your efforts on the most critical areas of the application to maximise the impact of your testing.
• **Developing detailed test documentation:** This includes creating Software Test Specifications, comprehensive test reports, and validation protocols for various levels of testing, such as unit, integration, and performance testing.
• **Reviewing project documentation:** You will scrutinise requirements, specifications, and user documentation to ensure clarity and identify potential quality issues early on.
• **Maintaining version control and configuration management:** Ensuring that test assets are properly managed and organised.

Ozow is seeking a candidate with a solid foundation in software testing principles and practical experience. To be successful in this role, you should possess:

• **Extensive testing experience:** A minimum of four years of dedicated experience in software testing is required.
• **Proficiency in testing tools:** Proven experience with industry-standard testing tools such as SoapUI, Playwright, and K6 is essential.
• **Agile methodology experience:** You should have a strong understanding and practical experience working within agile frameworks, particularly Scrum.
• **Performance testing exposure:** Familiarity with load or performance testing concepts and methodologies is highly desirable.
• **Formal testing certification:** An ISEB or ISTQB Certification at the Foundation level is a non-negotiable requirement for this position.
• **Educational background:** A relevant three-year IT diploma or a degree in a related field is mandatory.
