About the Role
The core of this position lies in driving business growth for OUTsurance by actively seeking out and securing new clients for both personal and commercial short-term insurance policies. Reporting to the OUTsurance Broker Regional Manager, you will operate as a key contributor within the broader Commercial team. This role demands a proactive, self-starter attitude, coupled with excellent business acumen. You will be responsible for the entire sales cycle, from initial lead generation and cold calling to building lasting relationships and ultimately closing deals. Success in this role hinges on your ability to identify client needs, present tailored insurance solutions, and foster trust through honest and effective communication.
Key Responsibilities
Your day-to-day responsibilities will be centered around expanding OUTsurance's market share and client base within the Western Cape. This will involve:
- **Prospecting and Lead Generation:** Actively identifying and pursuing potential new clients for both personal and commercial lines of insurance. This includes canvassing, networking, and leveraging various lead generation techniques.
- **Sales and Business Development:** Conducting face-to-face sales interactions, presenting OUTsurance's product offerings, and effectively communicating the value proposition to prospective clients.
- **Client Relationship Management:** Building and maintaining strong, long-term relationships with clients, ensuring their insurance needs are consistently met and providing ongoing support.
- **Portfolio Growth:** Developing and managing your own portfolio of short-term insurance clients, with a focus on sustainable growth through excellent service and proactive engagement.
- **Collaborative Work:** Working effectively within the Commercial team and reporting to the Regional Manager, contributing to collective goals and sharing insights.

- **Essential Qualifications:**
- A completed Matric or National Senior Certificate.
- A valid Code B driver’s licence.
- Ownership of a reliable vehicle with consistent access.
- **Experience:**
- A minimum of three years of external sales experience, specifically in a face-to-face selling environment.
- Proven experience in lead generation, cold calling, and adeptness at relationship management and opening new doors with clients.
- **Regulatory Compliance (if applicable):** Previous experience as a FAIS representative necessitates the following (depending on your date of first appointment):
- Relevant FAIS credits or full insurance qualifications.
- RE5 regulatory examination pass.

Requirements
- Completed Matric or National Senior Certificate
- Must have your own reliable vehicle with uninterrupted access to the vehicle
- Valid code B driver’s license
- 3 years of external sales experience in a face-to-face selling environment
- Experience in lead generation, cold calling, relationship management and opening doors

- FAIS credits/Full Insurance Qualifications (depending on Dofa)
