Job Description
OUTsurance is seeking an ambitious and entrepreneurial individual to join their growing team as a Broker, based in the vibrant uMhlanga area of KwaZulu-Natal. This role is pivotal to the expansion of OUTsurance’s business product offering, specifically focusing on developing and growing the short-term insurance portfolio. As a Broker, you will be instrumental in prospecting and canvassing for new business, ultimately building your own book of clients for both personal and commercial lines of insurance.
About the Opportunity
This position is part of the OUTsurance Broker Tied Agent Model, which has been developed to cater to the significant growth in their business product offerings. You will operate with a degree of autonomy, driven by a self-starter and entrepreneurial mindset. The expectation is that you will actively seek out and secure new insurance business, demonstrating strong business acumen and a proactive approach to sales. Reporting to the OUTsurance Broker Regional Manager, you will also collaborate closely with the broader Commercial team, contributing to the collective success of OUTsurance.

Key Responsibilities
Your primary responsibility will be the acquisition of new clients and the growth of your insurance portfolio. This involves a multifaceted approach to sales and client engagement. Key activities include:
- Prospecting and canvassing for new personal and commercial insurance business.
- Developing and nurturing a book of short-term insurance clients.
- Actively engaging in lead generation, including cold calling and effectively opening doors to potential clients.
- Building and maintaining strong, long-term relationships with clients to foster loyalty and repeat business.
- Presenting insurance solutions in a clear, concise, and persuasive manner.
- Managing your sales pipeline and working towards achieving targeted growth objectives.

OUTsurance is looking for a well-rounded individual with a robust set of skills and a proven track record in sales. Essential requirements include:
- A completed Matric or National Senior Certificate.
- A minimum of three years of external sales experience, with a strong emphasis on face-to-face selling.
- Demonstrated experience in lead generation, cold calling, and relationship management.
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment, balancing individual responsibility with team contributions and feedback.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in English.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and mathematical abilities.
- Effective problem-solving skills and the capacity to make sound judgments.
- Resilience and the ability to thrive under pressure in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing market conditions and client needs.
- A confident, enthusiastic, and proactive attitude, with the ability to take initiative.
- A valid driver's licence (Code B) and your own reliable vehicle with consistent access.
Additionally, for candidates who are FAIS representatives, specific qualifications are non-negotiable: completion of FAIS credits or full insurance qualifications, and the RE5 exam, depending on your Date of First Appointment (DOFA).

Requirements
General:
• Completed Matric or National Senior Certificate
• Must have your own reliable vehicle with uninterrupted access to the vehicle
• Valid code B driver’s license
• 3 years of external sales experience in a face-to-face selling environment
• Experience in lead generation, cold calling, relationship management and opening doors
Should you have previous experience as a FAIS representative the following is non-negotiable:
• FAIS credits/Full Insurance Qualifications (depending on Date of first appointment - DOFA)
• RE5 (depending on Date of first appointment - DOFA)
