Job Description

Old Mutual, a prominent financial services organisation deeply invested in the African continent's potential, is seeking a dedicated Senior Employee Benefits Broker Consultant to join their team in Johannesburg. This pivotal role acts as the crucial conduit between Old Mutual's comprehensive suite of employee benefits solutions and the diverse needs of corporate entities and their workforces. You will be instrumental in leveraging the expertise of specialist employee benefits consultants and brokers to deliver these solutions effectively.

About the Role

As a Senior Employee Benefits Broker Consultant, your primary responsibility will be to cultivate and manage a portfolio of South Africa's larger corporate employee benefits specialists and intermediaries. You will be accountable for driving sales results through your own dedicated efforts, operating within a supportive sales team and collaborating with the broader Old Mutual Corporate value chain. This position requires a proactive and strategic approach to market engagement and relationship management.

Key Responsibilities

Your day-to-day activities will encompass a broad range of responsibilities, all focused on promoting Old Mutual's offerings and fostering strong partnerships with intermediaries. Key functions include:

  • **Promoting Old Mutual Solutions:** You will actively promote Old Mutual's products, services, and brand to your panel of intermediaries and, through them, to their corporate clients. This involves maintaining a high level of accreditation and deep familiarity with all relevant products and the associated systems.
  • **Strategic Planning and Execution:** Developing and implementing effective strategies and account plans for your designated intermediaries will be essential. You will continuously review their performance, providing support and guidance to ensure mutual growth and success.
  • **Relationship Management:** Building and nurturing robust, long-term relationships with all contracted intermediaries within your portfolio is paramount. This includes understanding their needs and ensuring they are adequately serviced to maximise the growth of their business with Old Mutual.
  • **Market Responsiveness:** Staying attuned to market trends and competitor initiatives will be crucial for ensuring sustainable growth. You will leverage this insight to advise intermediaries and adapt strategies accordingly.
  • **Product Expertise and Support:** Providing comprehensive support and expert advice to intermediaries on all product-related aspects of Old Mutual Corporate offerings is a core function.
  • **CRM Management:** Diligently maintaining detailed customer relationship management (CRM) records for all deals within your portfolio, both active and closed, to capture essential historical data.
  • **Business Development:** Proactively identifying new business opportunities to expand Old Mutual Corporate's market share and assisting intermediaries in growing their own client base with Old Mutual.
  • **Sales Targets:** Consistently meeting all new business targets set for the year.
