Job Description
To provide comprehensive end-user support by managing I.T hardware, software and audio-visual systems, ensuring seamless operation of user devices, meeting rooms and conferencing technologies, while maintaining IT systems for smooth day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first-line and second-line IT support to end-users
- Install, configure and maintain laptops, desktops and mobile devices
- Install drivers and updates to ensure the system operates efficiently and securely
- Perform device imaging, re-imaging and deployments
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and basic network issues
- Manage user accounts (Active Directory, password resets)
- Support Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive)
- Ensure compliance via Intune/SCCM (patching, updates, security policies)
- Log, track, and resolve incidents using a ticketing system within SLA timelines
- Support onboarding and offboarding of users, including device setup and access provisioning
- Maintain I.T asset registers and documentation
- Escalate complex issues to relevant teams when required
- Set up, configure and operate AV equipment (projectors, microphones, sound systems, video conferencing tools)
- Perform routine maintenance, testing and health checks of AV systems
- Troubleshoot AV issues in meeting rooms, Boardrooms or events
- Support and manage video conferencing platforms (Microsoft Teams, Zoom)
- Provide on-site and remote support for users and stakeholders
- Assist with video conferencing platforms (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Zoom)
- Manage cabling, connectivity and AV configurations
- Support live events, presentations, webinars and boardroom meetings
- Ensure proper storage, handling and tracking of AV equipment
- Maintain and test AV equipment regularly to ensure optimal performance
- Maintain documentation of AV setups and logs of issues and resolutions
Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Relevant I.T Audio Visual certification (advantageous)
- IT-related qualification - Diploma/Degree (advantageous)
- 1–3 years’ experience in IT support and/or AV environment
- Windows 11 support and troubleshooting
- Microsoft 365 / Office 365 support
- Active Directory (user and group management)
- Intune / SCCM (Endpoint Manager)
- Basic networking (LAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, 3G Sim-Card)
- AV equipment and conferencing systems
- Hardware troubleshooting (laptops, printers, peripherals)
- Knowledge of AV hardware and software
- Familiarity with video conferencing tools (Teams, Zoom)
- Understanding of sound systems, microphones and acoustics
- Basic troubleshooting and fault-finding skills
- Experience with HDMI, VGA and wireless display technologies
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Problem-solving and analytical thinking
- Ability to work under pressure (especially during live meetings or events)
- Good time management and multitasking abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
