Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated individual to join a progressive consulting firm in a project and office management capacity, working entirely remotely. This role is pivotal in ensuring that strategic business advice translates into tangible results for entrepreneurial clients. The firm specialises in helping businesses optimise their income and expenditure through strategic planning. To achieve this, a strong emphasis is placed on robust structure, clear processes, and unwavering execution. This is precisely where the successful candidate will make their impact.

About the role

This position is designed for someone who thrives on organisation, efficiency, and the seamless execution of tasks. You will be instrumental in maintaining the operational flow of the consultancy, bridging the gap between strategic objectives and practical implementation. The role demands a proactive approach to managing both internal projects and the day-to-day administrative functions that keep the business running smoothly. As a remote position, proficiency with digital collaboration tools and a self-disciplined work ethic are paramount. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a client-focused organisation and gain valuable experience in a dynamic consulting environment.

Key Responsibilities

The core of this role involves ensuring that the consultancy’s internal operations are efficient and effective, supporting the delivery of high-quality services to clients. Your key responsibilities will likely include:

  • **Project Planning and Execution:** Taking ownership of internal projects, from initial conceptualisation and structuring through to successful implementation and completion. This means defining project scopes, setting timelines, and monitoring progress.
  • **Process Optimisation:** Continuously reviewing and improving existing workflows and operational processes to enhance efficiency, reduce bottlenecks, and ensure best practices are followed.
  • **Coordination and Communication:** Acting as a key liaison between the consulting team, senior management, and external partners. This involves facilitating clear and timely communication to ensure alignment and smooth collaboration.
  • **Resource and Schedule Management:** Overseeing the scheduling of meetings, managing calendars, and coordinating the allocation of resources to ensure projects remain on track.
  • **Performance Monitoring:** Ensuring that project milestones are met and desired outcomes are achieved. This includes preparing reports, analyses, and any necessary documentation to support decision-making.

What they're looking for

The ideal candidate will possess a blend of organisational prowess, a solution-oriented mindset, and a strong aptitude for digital tools. Key attributes and skills sought include:

  • **Organisational Skills:** A highly organised individual capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities concurrently.
  • **Process-Driven Approach:** The ability to work in a structured manner, identifying and implementing improvements to existing processes.
  • **Communication:** Clear, concise, and dependable communication skills are essential for interacting with various stakeholders.
  • **Digital Proficiency:** An openness to and familiarity with digital tools and modern working methods, including proficiency with platforms like Microsoft 365 and video conferencing software.
  • **Adaptability and Learning:** A willingness to immerse yourself in an established system, learn new skills, and commit to continuous professional development.
  • **Experience:** While prior experience in an organisational or project-related role is advantageous, it is not a strict requirement. A proactive attitude and a demonstrated ability to learn quickly will be highly valued.

In South Africa, roles involving project and office management are common across various sectors, including consulting, IT, and professional services. Salaries can vary significantly based on experience and the specific responsibilities, but typically range from R20,000 to R40,000 per month for individuals with a few years of relevant experience. Potential employers include a wide array of businesses, from specialised consultancies to larger corporate entities. Growth paths often lead to more senior project management roles, operations management, or specialised administrative leadership positions.

Requirements
