What You Will Do

The core of this position involves translating complex business and functional requirements into detailed technical specifications. You will then be responsible for developing high-quality programming code to bring these specifications to life, ensuring the creation of effective and well-engineered software solutions. This includes:

  • Designing, coding, testing, and debugging software programs.
  • Maintaining and enhancing existing codebases.
  • Collaborating with senior technical staff to ensure adherence to programming standards and best practices.
  • Applying modern engineering methodologies such as DevOps and Agile principles.
  • Contributing to the development of technical specifications based on business needs.
  • Potentially working with a variety of technologies and platforms.

Liberty is searching for a highly skilled and experienced Software Engineer with a proven track record in Java development. A strong foundation in software engineering principles and practices is essential, complemented by significant experience in modern development methodologies.

Key technical competencies include:

  • **Programming Languages:** Extensive experience with Java.
  • **Scripting:** Proficiency in Unix scripting.
  • **Databases:** Experience with DB2 and SQL scripting.
  • **Cloud Platforms:** AWS experience, with AWS certification being advantageous.
  • **Databases:** Familiarity with PostgreSQL.
  • **CRM:** Experience with SAP CRM.
  • **Web Services:** Strong understanding and experience with RESTful web services.
  • **Version Control:** Proficiency with Git and Bitbucket.
  • **Containerisation & Orchestration:** Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
