Job Description
This exciting opportunity within Liberty calls for a skilled Engineer to focus on Endpoint and Remote Services. The role is instrumental in ensuring the organisation's digital infrastructure remains secure, efficient, and highly available. You will be a key player in designing, implementing, and maintaining sophisticated endpoint solutions and integrated communication systems, underpinning a seamless work environment for colleagues across various platforms. A significant aspect of this position involves safeguarding the company's computer systems and networks against a constantly evolving landscape of cyber threats, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of critical data.
What You'll Be Doing
The core responsibilities of this position are multifaceted and demand a strong technical aptitude. A significant portion of your work will involve the administration, ongoing maintenance, and optimisation of the Citrix environment. This includes deep dives into Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), NetScaler VPN, and application hosting solutions, ensuring they operate at peak performance. You will also be entrusted with the management and support of the Windows 365 Cloud PC platform, overseeing everything from initial provisioning and policy management to the user lifecycle.
Collaboration is key in this role. You'll work closely with vital teams, including security, networking, and broader infrastructure, to ensure that all endpoint solutions are robustly aligned with the organisation's stringent security standards. A proactive approach is essential, involving constant monitoring of platform health, performance, and capacity. This will allow you to anticipate and address potential risks before they impact operations.
Furthermore, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining comprehensive technical documentation, creating essential runbooks, and establishing standard operating procedures to streamline processes. Participation in critical ITIL-governed processes – incident, change, and problem management – will be a regular part of your duties. You'll also contribute significantly to project delivery, whether it involves rolling out new technologies, undertaking system upgrades, or managing complex migrations. Finally, you will act as a subject matter expert, providing Level 3 technical support and serving as the ultimate escalation point for any challenging endpoint-related issues.
What They're Looking For
To excel in this role, you'll need substantial, hands-on experience in an Enterprise Endpoint or Remote Services setting. A proven track record with Citrix technologies is paramount, encompassing expertise in Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD) and VDI. You should also possess strong command of Citrix NetScaler/ADC, including configuration for VPN, load balancing, and gateway functionalities, as well as experience with application hosting and provisioning.
Proficiency in managing Windows 365 Cloud PCs is a must, coupled with a solid understanding of Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune) and Azure Active Directory. A firm grasp of Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) concepts and practical experience with relevant solutions (such as Zscaler Private Access, Citrix Secure Private Access, or Cato Networks) is highly desirable. You should be comfortable navigating and utilising Microsoft 365 and Azure cloud services, and possess a deep knowledge of Windows 10/11 OS management, Group Policy, and best practices in endpoint security.
Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools typically used in virtualised environments is expected. Crucially, you'll need exceptional troubleshooting and analytical skills, employing a structured and methodical approach to resolve complex problems. While not explicitly required, relevant certifications such as Citrix Certified Associate/Professional (CCA/CCP), Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator, or equivalent, would be advantageous. Similarly, familiarity with ITIL processes, ideally with an ITIL Foundation certification, is a plus. Any exposure to scripting and automation using tools like PowerShell or Python for endpoint management tasks would also be highly beneficial.
