About the Opportunity
2U is seeking a talented Graphic Designer to join their dynamic team in Cape Town. This role is pivotal in crafting visually compelling and cohesive marketing materials that uphold and enhance the 2U brand across a variety of digital and, at times, print platforms. You will be instrumental in translating marketing objectives into striking visual solutions.
What You Will Be Doing
In this exciting role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end design process for a range of marketing assets. This includes:
- Developing and executing designs for brand identity style guides, websites, advertisements, email campaigns, and social media content.
- Exploring innovative visual concepts to ensure 2U's branding remains distinct and impactful.
- Maintaining a consistent and cohesive visual identity across all communication channels.
- Interpreting creative briefs and leveraging performance data to ensure design work aligns with marketing goals and resonates with the target audience.
- Managing multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery without compromising quality.
- Articulating design choices and strategic thinking to stakeholders in a clear, persuasive manner.
- Actively contributing to brainstorming sessions and conceptual development.
- Building and nurturing strong working relationships with team members and various stakeholders.
- Collaborating effectively with UX/UI specialists and front-end developers to ensure seamless integration of design elements.
- Potentially mentoring junior designers, sharing knowledge and best practices.
- Staying abreast of the latest industry design trends and sharing insights with the wider team.
What We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of design principles and a proven track record in creating engaging visual content.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A relevant Bachelor's Degree or equivalent industry experience.
- Between 3 to 5 years of professional experience in graphic design, preferably within a marketing or agency environment.
- Expert proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.).
- Strong working knowledge of Figma for collaborative design.
- A solid foundation in core design principles, including typography, colour theory, and layout.
- Familiarity with digital production techniques and best practices.
- A good understanding of UX/UI design principles and how they influence user experience.
- Demonstrated ability in developing and applying visual brand identities.
- Experience using project management software to track tasks and deadlines.
- Proficiency in using the Google Office Suite.
