Senior Software Engineer: Authentication Advice

About the Role

The Authentication Advice team plays a critical role in Entersekt's mission, ensuring the reliable and scalable processing of requests to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of their risk assessment, authentication advice, and fraud detection systems. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will contribute significantly to the development of secure and scalable microservices. This position offers the opportunity to influence technical direction, promote best practices, and shape architectural and design decisions within the team. You will also collaborate closely with cloud infrastructure teams, leveraging your expertise to build high-performance solutions.

This role involves a blend of technical development, architectural contribution, and team mentorship. Key responsibilities include:

• Designing, building, and maintaining robust and scalable microservices capable of processing high volumes of real-time requests.
• Assisting in the architectural design of new features, ensuring secure and high-performance implementations.
• Mentoring junior engineers and quality assurance colleagues, fostering a culture of high-quality product delivery.
• Collaborating with various cross-functional teams to conceptualise and implement innovative, data-driven solutions.
• Working alongside DevOps teams to facilitate seamless deployment and scaling of microservices in cloud environments, particularly AWS.
• Driving continuous architectural improvements to ensure the resilience and fault tolerance of systems.

Entersekt is seeking a seasoned software engineer with a strong background in developing scalable and secure systems. The ideal candidate will possess:

• A minimum of five years' experience with general-purpose programming languages such as Java, Python, or Golang, with a strong preference for Golang.
• A proven ability to mentor and guide junior team members effectively.
• Extensive experience with cloud computing platforms, specifically Amazon Web Services (AWS), including services like EKS, Aurora, Lambda, S3, and API Gateway.
• Practical experience in deploying and managing applications within cloud environments.
• Proficiency in containerisation and orchestration technologies, such as Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm, for managing microservices architectures.
• A solid understanding of software architecture, with demonstrable experience in building and scaling microservices for high-performance settings.
• Familiarity with security best practices, encompassing cryptography, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), and secure system design principles.
• Experience with automated testing methodologies, including unit, integration, and performance tests, to maintain software quality and stability.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban, and a track record of effective contribution within cross-functional agile teams.
• While not strictly required, a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred, though relevant practical experience is highly valued.
