About the Role
As a Software Engineer within the Takealot Fulfilment Solutions (TFS) division, you will be at the forefront of developing and enhancing the software that underpins their extensive logistics network. TFS is responsible for revolutionising e-commerce delivery in South Africa, processing an astonishing volume of over 30 million orders annually. Your work will directly contribute to this massive undertaking, ensuring seamless operations and an exceptional customer experience. You will tackle intricate technical challenges, continuously improve existing systems, and spearhead the development of new functionalities. Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will encompass the full software development lifecycle, from design to implementation and maintenance. You will be expected to:

To excel in this role, candidates will need a strong foundation in computer science principles and practical software development experience. The company is open to different levels of experience, with intermediate positions typically requiring 3-6 years of relevant work and senior roles demanding 5-10+ years. Essential qualifications include:
- A Bachelor's Degree or Advanced Diploma in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering, or equivalent practical experience in software development.
- A deep understanding of computer science fundamentals, including object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithms.
- Proven experience in developing high-quality, production-grade software.
- Proficiency in Python is a key requirement, though a willingness to expand your skillset into other languages is encouraged.
- Experience working within a Linux development environment.
- Familiarity with SQL database systems.
