FNB's Private Wealth division, specifically RMB Private Bank, is seeking a dedicated Banking Advisor to join their esteemed team in Johannesburg. About the Role

The Banking Advisor will play a crucial role in the proactive management of a portfolio of Private Wealth Clients. This position operates within a team setting, working alongside Private Advisors. Your primary function will involve providing essential analysis, conducting research, and ensuring the seamless fulfilment of sales and service requests. The overarching goal is to identify opportunities to onboard new clients and to expand the bank's existing client base through effective relationship management and by actively growing client portfolios. Attention to detail and a commitment to cost containment by responsibly managing work-related resources will also be key aspects of the role.

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will extend across several key areas, all geared towards delivering exceptional client experiences and contributing to the bank's growth objectives:

  • **Client Management and Growth:** Proactively manage existing client portfolios, identify needs, and generate leads for new business. Your efforts will directly contribute to increasing the customer base and growing the active client account base.
  • **Sales and Service Excellence:** Deliver high-quality, insightful advice that not only meets but exceeds customer expectations. This involves developing and implementing innovative and appropriate financial solutions tailored to individual client aspirations.
  • **Relationship Building:** Cultivate and manage key stakeholder relationships, both internally and externally, to achieve operational objectives and foster a culture of service excellence. Building positive relationships and encouraging feedback will be paramount.
  • **Financial Acumen:** Achieve set financial targets and uphold associated service levels. This requires a strong understanding of the bank's offerings and the ability to market all relevant financial services solutions effectively.
  • **Operational Efficiency:** Provide efficient administrative support by meticulously planning, reporting, and updating all pertinent information in a timely manner. This includes effective management of the leads pipeline.
  • **Compliance and Reporting:** Ensure strict adherence to all relevant statutory, legislative, policy, and governance requirements, as well as established processes and procedures. You will also be responsible for compiling progress reports to inform business decision-making.
  • **Continuous Improvement:** Actively assess your own performance, seek constructive feedback, and request training to enhance your skills and knowledge. Contribute to innovation by identifying more efficient and accurate ways of working.

What They're Looking For

To excel in this role, candidates will need a solid foundation in financial services and a proven track record in client-facing positions.

Essential qualifications and experience include:

  • A relevant FSCA (Financial Sector Conduct Authority) approved qualification at NQF Level 7 in Finance, Economics, or Accounting.
  • FAIS (Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services) accreditation, specifically the RE5 (Representatives' Examination), is a preferred requirement.
  • A minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience within a sales or service-oriented environment within the financial sector.

Qualifications and Experience                     

  • Relevant FSCA Approved NQF7 in Finance or Economics or Accounting.

  • Preferred Qualification: FAIS accreditation required (RE5).

  • 2 - 3 years’ experience within a Sales/Service area of a financial environment.
