If you're a developer passionate about building robust web applications and thrive in a collaborative environment, this position could be an excellent next step in your career.
About the Role
This position is centred around the design and development of sophisticated web applications. You'll be an integral part of the entire development lifecycle, from conceptualisation to deployment. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to producing high-quality, maintainable code. As an intermediate engineer, you'll be expected to take ownership of tasks, contribute meaningfully to technical discussions, and mentor more junior members of the team when appropriate. The hybrid nature of the work allows for a balance between focused individual work and collaborative team engagement, fostering both productivity and a strong team culture.
Key Responsibilities
Your day-to-day responsibilities will be varied and engaging, contributing directly to the success of the company's software products. Key aspects of the role include:
- Designing and developing user-centric web applications that meet business requirements and exceed user expectations.
- Collaborating closely with product managers and designers to translate concepts and wireframes into functional features.
- Writing clean, efficient, and scalable code, primarily utilising the .NET ecosystem and associated programming languages.
- Proactively reviewing code, identifying bugs, and implementing effective debugging strategies to ensure application stability.
- Working with modern front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to create seamless user interfaces.
- Contributing to architectural discussions and helping to shape the technical direction of projects.
- Participating in agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Ensuring that all developed solutions adhere to best practices in software engineering and security.
What They're Looking For
To be successful in this role, candidates will possess a solid foundation in software development principles and practical experience. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of the .NET framework and its various components, along with proficiency in related programming languages. Beyond technical skills, a collaborative spirit and excellent problem-solving abilities are paramount.
Essential qualifications and attributes include:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Demonstrable experience as a Software Developer, with a portfolio showcasing successful web application projects.
- In-depth knowledge and practical application of .NET frameworks (e.g., .NET Core, .NET Framework).
- A strong understanding of RESTful APIs and web services, including their design and implementation.
- Proficiency in front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Proven ability to work effectively within a cross-functional team environment.
- A commitment to continuous learning and staying abreast of emerging technologies.
