Job Description
As Ozow continues to scale, one of our biggest growth opportunities lies within our existing SME and long-tail merchant base. We are looking for a commercially minded Commercial Growth Associate to unlock this opportunity by increasing merchant activity, retention, product adoption and revenue through scalable, data-driven and AI-enabled growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Commercial, Product, Marketing and Data teams to drive merchant growth initiatives.
- Take ownership of the SME and long-tail merchant segment performance.
- Influence stakeholders using data-driven insights to prioritise growth opportunities.
- Design and implement lifecycle programmes to improve merchant activation, engagement and retention.
- Identify growth opportunities across the merchant journey and deploy targeted interventions.
- Optimise onboarding-to-activation funnels to increase active merchant rates.
- Drive Gross Payment Value (GPV) growth across the SME merchant base.
- Increase revenue per merchant through targeted commercial initiatives.
- Improve transaction frequency and overall merchant performance.
- Develop and manage merchant segmentation strategies based on behaviour and value.
- Build and maintain merchant health scoring frameworks.
- Identify at-risk merchants and implement proactive retention strategies.
- Increase adoption of Ozow products across the merchant base.
- Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities.
- Partner with Product and Marketing teams to drive feature awareness and usage.
- Design and implement scalable, automated growth programmes.
- Leverage AI tools to enhance merchant engagement and internal efficiency.
- Run structured experiments to test and optimise growth strategies.
- Ensure effective use of CRM, data tools and systems to support growth initiatives.
Requirements
- 3–6 years experience in Growth, Commercial Operations, Revenue Operations, Lifecycle Marketing, Merchant Success, Customer Growth, Business Performance or Analytics.
- Experience working with SME or merchant portfolios at scale, using data to drive commercial decisions and executing measurable growth initiatives.
- Ability to initiate, develop, maintain and leverage outstanding relationships to influence a wide network, both inside and outside the company.
- Demonstrate strategic foresight, sound judgement, and the ability to make confident decisions under uncertainty.
