This role offers a hybrid working model, blending the benefits of in-office collaboration with the flexibility of remote work, all within a vibrant city centre environment. If you're passionate about extracting insights from complex datasets and transforming them into actionable strategies, this position could be your next career leap.

The Opportunity

This role is more than just crunching numbers; it's about being a key player in shaping data-driven decisions. You'll be part of a team that values innovation and collaboration, contributing to projects that make a tangible impact. You will have the chance to work with diverse datasets and apply cutting-edge analytical techniques to solve real-world business problems.

Key Responsibilities

As a Data Scientist, your responsibilities will encompass the full data science lifecycle. This will involve:

  • Developing, implementing, and optimising sophisticated machine learning models and algorithms.
  • Performing in-depth data exploration and statistical analysis to uncover trends and patterns.
  • Collaborating closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into data science requirements.
  • Designing and conducting experiments to test hypotheses and validate findings.
  • Communicating complex analytical results and insights clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences, often through compelling visualisations and reports.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of data infrastructure and analytical processes.
  • Staying abreast of the latest advancements in data science and artificial intelligence to introduce novel approaches.

To excel in this Data Scientist position, you'll need a solid foundation in data science principles and practical experience. Key requirements include:

  • A tertiary qualification in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience (typically 2+ years) in a data science or machine learning role.
  • Proficiency in programming languages essential for data science, such as Python or R, and their associated data science libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
  • Strong understanding of statistical modelling, machine learning techniques, and experimental design.
  • Experience with data manipulation and query languages like SQL.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to work seamlessly within a team and present findings confidently.
  • Familiarity with data visualisation tools is a plus.
