About the Role

As an Android Software Engineer within the Takealot Group, you will be an integral part of the team responsible for bringing the company's vision for its mobile storefront to life. • **Educational Background:** A Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in a relevant field such as Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering. Alternatively, candidates with a minimum of 6 years of equivalent experience in software development will be considered.
• **Professional Experience:** A minimum of 3 years of professional mobile development experience, with at least 2 of those years specifically focused on native Android development.
• **Technical Proficiency:**
• Solid understanding of Computer Science fundamentals and programming best practices.
• Deep knowledge of the Android application and activity lifecycles.
• Expertise in building modern, responsive user interfaces using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and core Android architecture components.
• Familiarity with various Android-specific asynchronous processing techniques.
• Experience in strategies for handling platform fragmentation and diverse screen sizes.
• An appreciation for Android user experience design patterns and principles.

• Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering and a minimum of 3 years experience in a software/technology environment
• If no Bachelor’s or Advanced Diploma, equivalent experience of a minimum of 6 years in Software Development
• 3+ years professional mobile development experience with at least 2 years in native Android
