A core aspect of your responsibility will be to foster a collaborative atmosphere, ensuring that QA efforts are seamlessly integrated with the broader product development lifecycle and aligned with overarching business objectives. You'll be expected to cultivate an environment where teams feel empowered to operate autonomously while maintaining a high standard of quality. This role requires a leader who can not only manage but also actively contribute to QA processes, driving technical advancements and ensuring the integrity of the software underpinning Takealot's complex logistics network.

- **Team Empowerment:** Creating a self-sustaining QA environment where teams are equipped and encouraged to make independent, informed decisions.
- **Process Enhancement:** Developing and implementing superior testing processes and practices to elevate the overall quality of software development.
- **Talent Acquisition:** Spearheading recruitment efforts to attract and onboard top-tier talent for the QA department.
- **Problem Resolution:** Proactively identifying testing gaps and leading collaborative efforts with engineering teams to resolve them efficiently.
- **Feedback Integration:** Ensuring that insights derived from production issues are systematically fed back into the QA test base for continuous improvement.
- **Bug Management:** Maintaining rigorous standards for identifying, documenting, and tracking defects.
- **Community Engagement:** Contributing to the broader QA Community of Practice, sharing knowledge and best practices.
What They're Looking For
To excel in this role, candidates will need a strong foundation in software quality assurance, coupled with proven leadership experience. The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering. Alternatively, 8 years of equivalent experience in a QA management role will be considered in lieu of a formal degree.

- Demonstrated experience managing QA efforts across multiple teams and projects simultaneously.
- A solid track record in designing and implementing scalable QA processes and methodologies.
