Job Description
Provide strategic technology leadership to Business Banking, driving innovation and delivery aligned to business strategy. Partner with EXCO peers to enable end-to-end business transformation, taking full accountability for the design, prioritisation, and delivery of technology solutions. Deliver a compelling, data-led technology platform that enables growth, efficiency, and client experience, while actively prioritising technology investments and making clear trade-offs across strategic initiatives and ongoing operational demands.
Key Responsibilities
- Digital Transformation: Drive digital transformation initiatives to modernize processes and improve customer experiences.
- Digital Adoption: Seek opportunities to digitise, automate and implement solutions for customer primacy, innovation, and operational effectiveness.
- Leadership and Talent Development: Lead and mentor a team of IT professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
- Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate with other executives, board members, regulators, and external partners to communicate IT roadmap and progress.
- Value Management: Ensure that investments achieve the value commitment in terms of customer experience and cost efficiency.
- Technology Innovation: Identify and leverage emerging technologies to enhance services and improve operational efficiency.
- Data Value: Ensure the banking unit has the processes of data governance and controls for data privacy.
- Security and Compliance: Ensure IT systems are secure and compliant with industry regulations.
- Infrastructure Management: Oversee the maintenance and modernization of IT infrastructure.
- Vendor Management: Manage relationships with technology vendors and third-party service providers.
- Risk Management: Assess and mitigate technology-related risks.
- Budget Management: Manage the IT budget effectively.
- Business Continuity: Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- 15+ years of progressively responsible experience in IT leadership roles, with at least 5 years in a senior management position within banking.
- Proven track record of successfully implementing IT strategies and projects in a banking context.
- Strong understanding of banking regulations and compliance.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
- Strong financial acumen for budget management.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Vendor management and negotiation skills.
