This 6-month fixed-term contract offers a unique opportunity for a motivated individual to gain practical experience within the dynamic Mass Foundation Cluster, a significant customer-facing division dedicated to empowering individuals and communities. Old Mutual's vision is to be the most trusted financial partner, actively helping customers realise their life aspirations by bridging the gap between their resources and their financial service needs. Their mission centres on facilitating access to essential financial solutions, adapting to evolving customer requirements, and specifically serving the low and emerging-middle income segments of the South African population.

About the Human Capital Internship

This internship is an excellent platform to learn about organisational development, effectiveness, and employee engagement initiatives. You will have the chance to support HR Consultants and HR Business Partners in implementing these crucial programmes, as well as assist in rolling out change management initiatives and contributing to the execution of people plans and HR processes within specific client areas. Maintaining the HR calendar according to agreed timelines and upholding HR controls and protocols will also be key aspects of your responsibilities.

As a Human Capital Intern, your day-to-day contributions will be diverse and essential to the HR department's success. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing administrative support to the HR team, ensuring timely and accurate completion of tasks.
  • Responding to HR-related queries and administrative requirements in line with established Service Level Agreements.
  • Assisting with the processing of HR documentation and information.

Essential requirements include:

  • A degree in Human Resources or Industrial Psychology.
  • A basic grasp of fundamental HR principles, South African labour laws, and people management practices.
  • Availability and commitment to complete the full 6-month duration of the internship.
  • Own transportation or reliable commuting arrangements to the Pretoria location.

While not essential, the following would be advantageous:
