As a leading financial services group with a strong African focus, Liberty is seeking a skilled Performance Marketing Specialist to join their team in Johannesburg on a fixed-term contract basis. This role is central to driving the success of their eCommerce initiatives, aiming to boost conversions, acquire new customers, and generate revenue, ultimately maximising the return on investment from paid media efforts. If you have a proven track record in optimising digital campaigns and a passion for data-driven marketing, this opportunity could be a significant step in your career.

About the Role

The Performance Marketing Specialist will be instrumental in the planning, execution, and ongoing optimisation of eCommerce campaigns across various business units. The primary objective is to achieve tangible results that directly contribute to the company's growth and profitability. This involves meticulously managing paid media strategies to ensure they are not only effective but also deliver exceptional value. You'll be at the forefront of digital advertising, ensuring campaigns are finely tuned to meet and exceed their performance targets.

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will span the entire lifecycle of performance marketing campaigns. This includes:

  • **Campaign Strategy and Planning:** Developing comprehensive plans for eCommerce campaigns, aligning them with broader business objectives and market opportunities.
  • **Execution and Management:** Overseeing the day-to-day implementation of paid media campaigns across relevant digital channels.
  • **Performance Optimisation:** Continuously monitoring campaign performance against key metrics such as Click-Through Rate (CTR), Conversion Rate (CVR), Cost per Acquisition (CPA), and Return on Ad Spend (ROAS). Implementing data-driven adjustments to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • **Budget Management:** Ensuring paid media budgets are allocated and spent optimally to achieve the highest possible ROI.
  • **Reporting and Analysis:** Generating regular reports on campaign performance, providing insights and recommendations for future strategies.
  • **Collaboration:** Working closely with internal teams, including Content, Creative, SEO, and Analytics, to ensure a cohesive and integrated marketing approach.

What They're Looking For

Liberty is looking for a candidate with a solid foundation in digital marketing and a demonstrable history of success in performance-driven roles. Key requirements include:

  • **Experience:** A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in integrated and digital marketing, with a strong emphasis on performance optimisation.
  • **Paid Media Expertise:** Proven ability to optimise paid media campaigns to achieve measurable improvements across critical performance indicators.
  • **eCommerce Focus:** Extensive experience leveraging eCommerce platforms to drive customer acquisition, boost online sales, and foster sustainable revenue growth.
  • **Collaboration Skills:** A strong aptitude for working effectively within cross-functional teams, fostering a collaborative environment to achieve shared goals.
  • **Analytical Acumen:** Demonstrated skill in analysing and interpreting data to inform marketing decisions and strategies.
  • **Technical Competencies:** Proficiency in areas such as data-driven digital marketing, brand and product activations, and understanding client journeys and value propositions.
  • **Education:** A first-degree qualification in Marketing or a related field.

In South Africa, Performance Marketing Specialists are highly sought after, particularly by large corporations and digitally-focused businesses. Salaries for this role can vary significantly based on experience and the specific responsibilities, but typically range from R35,000 to R60,000 per month for experienced professionals.
