Based in Centurion, Gauteng, this programme is designed for ambitious individuals eager to contribute to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) and Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) initiatives within a leading South African financial services provider.
About the Role
The Transformation Internship is a hands-on learning experience where you'll gain practical exposure to the planning, execution, and monitoring of key strategic projects. You'll be immersed in the operational aspects of driving meaningful change, working closely with a dedicated team focused on enhancing fairness and representation within the organisation. This role requires a proactive individual who is keen to understand the intricacies of DEI and B-BBEE strategies and their implementation in a corporate setting.
Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will be varied and will provide a comprehensive overview of transformation work. You will:
- Conduct in-depth research into current industry trends, competitor activities, and recognised best practices relevant to transformation efforts. This includes analysing information to support DEI and B-BBEE objectives.
- Synthesise your research findings into clear, concise summaries and present these insights to your team, contributing to informed decision-making.
- Actively assist in the planning, implementation, and ongoing tracking of various DEI and B-BBEE projects.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues across different departments to ensure project milestones are met and that initiatives align with OUTsurance's overarching strategic goals.
- Gather and analyse data to assess the efficacy of transformation programmes, identifying what's working and where improvements are needed.
- Prepare insightful reports and data visualisations (dashboards) to monitor progress, highlight key performance indicators (KPIs), and propose data-driven recommendations for enhancement.
- Engage with both internal teams and external stakeholders, gathering valuable feedback, addressing concerns, and building support for transformation initiatives.
- Foster positive working relationships through clear and effective communication, ensuring alignment and buy-in across the organisation.
- Identify opportunities to optimise processes and increase efficiency within transformation-related operations.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of innovative solutions and change initiatives that foster continuous improvement.
- Proactively seek out learning opportunities to deepen your understanding of DEI and B-BBEE methodologies, change management principles, and relevant technologies. This may involve participating in training sessions, workshops, and networking events.
