About the Role

Liberty is seeking a skilled Software Engineer with a strong focus on SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) to join their team in Johannesburg. This role is central to the design, development, testing, and ongoing maintenance of critical business applications. You will be working within a structured development framework, adhering to established programming standards, and collaborating with senior technical professionals to ensure the delivery of robust, well-engineered solutions. Key Responsibilities

Your primary responsibilities will encompass the full software development lifecycle for SAP Analytics Cloud. This includes:

  • Designing, coding, testing, and debugging programs within development environments.
  • Applying agreed-upon standards and utilising appropriate tools to achieve high-quality engineering outcomes.
  • Working under the guidance of senior technical resources to ensure best practices are followed.
  • Contributing to the development and maintenance of planning, budgeting, forecasting, and scenario modelling solutions.
  • Integrating SAP planning solutions with other enterprise data platforms, including SAP BW/BW4HANA.

What They're Looking For

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess a solid foundation in software engineering principles and a proven track record with SAP SAC. Key requirements include:

  • A first degree in Information Technology or a related field. An additional degree in Finance would be considered advantageous.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in SAP SAC Planning and/or SAP BPC Planning.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering solutions for budgeting, forecasting, planning, and scenario modelling.
  • Strong experience in designing planning models and integrating SAP planning solutions with SAP BW/BW4HANA and other enterprise data platforms.
  • A thorough understanding of financial planning and analytics processes, encompassing budgeting, forecasting, workforce planning, and variance analysis.
  • Proven experience in software engineering, testing, deployment, and Agile delivery methodologies.

Furthermore, candidates will be evaluated on their behavioural competencies, including their ability to adopt practical approaches, diligently check their work, develop expertise, embrace change, critically examine information, and work effectively within a team. Technical competencies such as Agile Engineering, API Engineering, Cloud Computing, Software Engineering Methods and Tools, Software Foundations, and System Integration are also essential.

This role is ideal for an experienced SAP SAC professional looking to make a significant impact within a dynamic and forward-thinking financial services organisation.

Requirements

  • First Degree in Information Technology or related required with additional degree in Finance being advantageous
