Capco is on the lookout for an experienced Principal Consultant, essentially a Senior Manager level professional, to bolster their Trade & Transaction Reporting practice. This is a key role within their Finance, Risk, Regulatory & Financial Crime (FRRF) division, ideal for an individual who possesses deep expertise in regulatory reporting and a track record of successfully managing intricate, multi-jurisdictional transformation projects. The opportunity offers the chance to collaborate with some of the world's most prominent financial institutions, guiding them through the complexities of regulatory change, reinforcing their reporting controls, and refining their reporting operational models.
About the Role
This position is fundamentally about driving significant change within the financial services sector, specifically concerning how firms report their trades and transactions. You will be instrumental in helping clients navigate a landscape of evolving regulations, which may include frameworks such as EMIR Refit, MiFIR, SFTR, CFTC, MAS, and HKMA. A significant aspect of the role will involve harnessing the power of approved AI tools and embracing AI-driven methodologies. The aim is to elevate the quality of analysis, expedite project delivery, and enhance the overall accuracy of reporting, all while upholding responsible AI practices and ensuring appropriate human oversight is maintained.
Key Responsibilities
The responsibilities in this Principal Consultant role are multifaceted and demand a strategic as well as hands-on approach. You will be expected to:
- Lead and oversee the successful execution of trade and transaction reporting transformation initiatives, often spanning various global regulatory jurisdictions.
- Provide crucial support for regulatory implementation projects, including remediation efforts and the optimisation of controls across a diverse range of reporting frameworks.
- Conduct in-depth analysis and enhancement of reporting architectures, ensuring robust data lineage, effective reconciliations, and sound data quality frameworks are in place.
- Offer expert guidance on the implementation of regulatory reporting platforms and cutting-edge RegTech solutions.
- Cultivate and maintain strong, trusted relationships with clients, actively contributing to business development efforts and serving as a mentor to more junior team members.
What They're Looking For
To excel in this role, Capco seeks candidates with a substantial background in the financial services industry. Key requirements include:
- Demonstrated strong experience in leading trade or transaction reporting transformation projects across multiple global regulatory regimes.
- A solid understanding of Capital Markets products, with specific knowledge of areas like OTC derivatives and equities.
- Proven experience in managing reporting controls, executing reconciliations, and navigating various regulatory reporting frameworks.
- A broad understanding of core Capital Markets functions, such as Risk, Treasury, and Compliance.
- Exceptional stakeholder management capabilities, coupled with strong analytical acumen and effective communication skills.
For professionals in South Africa, a role like this, particularly with a global consultancy, offers a pathway to working on high-profile projects that impact the international financial markets. While specific salary figures are not provided, senior consulting roles at this level in major financial hubs and for international firms often command competitive remuneration packages, reflecting the specialized expertise and responsibility involved. Capco, as a global firm with a presence in financial centres worldwide, provides opportunities to engage with leading financial institutions, potentially leading to career progression into more senior leadership or specialised expert positions within the consulting or financial services sectors.
