You will be instrumental in the entire software development lifecycle, from initial design and coding to rigorous testing, debugging, and ongoing maintenance of programmes. Working within established programming standards and under the guidance of senior technical professionals, you will translate complex business and functional requirements into robust technical specifications and subsequently develop the code that brings these solutions to life. This role demands a commitment to producing well-engineered results that meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

Your responsibilities will encompass a broad spectrum of software engineering tasks, all aimed at delivering high-quality technical solutions. Key duties include:

• Designing, developing, and implementing software applications.
• Writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code according to agreed-upon standards.
• Collaborating with stakeholders to understand and translate business needs into technical requirements.
• Testing software thoroughly to identify and resolve bugs and ensure optimal performance.
• Debugging and troubleshooting existing code to maintain system stability and functionality.
• Participating in code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices and maintain code quality.
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of development processes and methodologies.
• Working within an Agile framework, embracing modern engineering practices such as DevOps, continuous integration, and continuous delivery.

What They're Looking For

To excel in this position, candidates should possess a strong foundation in software engineering principles and a proven track record in the field. The ideal candidate will bring:

• A first-degree qualification in Information Technology or a related field.
• A minimum of 5-7 years of experience specifically in Software Engineering Technology.
• 8-10 years of broad experience in translating business and functional requirements into comprehensive technical specifications and developing the corresponding programming code.
• Demonstrable experience with modern engineering practices, including Agile methodologies, DevOps principles, Continuous Integration (CI), and Continuous Delivery/Deployment (CD).
• Proven expertise across multiple IT engineering disciplines, with a clear specialisation in at least one area.
• A thorough understanding and practical application of technologies within the required scope of expertise.
• Strong behavioural competencies, including the ability to adopt practical approaches, articulate information clearly, pay close attention to detail, develop expertise, document facts accurately, embrace change, and critically examine information.
• Technical proficiency in areas such as API Engineering, Automation, and Cloud Computing.
