Risk Analyst

Pavago is currently facilitating the search for a meticulous Risk Analyst to join their client’s team. About the role

In this capacity, you will be responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of risk management, ranging from initial identification to ongoing monitoring and mitigation. You will work across diverse domains, including financial stability, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and cybersecurity. The objective is to translate raw data and emerging threat intelligence into clear, actionable insights that empower stakeholders to make informed, high-level business decisions.

Beyond core analysis, you will play a central role in strengthening the organisation’s internal controls. You will be tasked with maintaining vital documentation—such as risk registers and control matrices—and providing the necessary reporting to support governance committees. This is an ideal position for a candidate who is comfortable operating independently in a remote setting while maintaining high standards of documentation and procedural rigour.

Your daily contributions will focus on maintaining the organisation’s resilience against potential disruptions. Your primary duties will include:

• Executing enterprise-wide risk assessments covering operational, market, financial, and compliance-related exposures.
• Developing and managing quantitative risk models to forecast and monitor potential threats.
• Utilising technical tools, including SQL, Python, R, and advanced Excel, to manipulate datasets and provide deep-dive analytics.
• Updating and maintaining remediation trackers and control matrices to ensure all identified gaps are addressed promptly.
• Supporting adherence to international regulatory frameworks, such as Basel III, GDPR, and SOX.
• Evaluating internal control frameworks and preparing detailed reports for governance committees.

• A minimum of three years of professional experience within risk management, audit, governance, or compliance functions.
• Advanced technical capabilities in SQL and Microsoft Excel.
• Hands-on experience with GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) platforms such as Archer or ServiceNow.
• A strong command of written and spoken English, essential for drafting reports and communicating findings to diverse teams.
• A proactive, detail-oriented mindset with the ability to manage multiple risk domains simultaneously.
• Bonus points will be awarded to candidates holding relevant professional certifications, such as a CFA, FRM, CPA, or CCEP.
