Job Description

MultiplyMii, a prominent player in the swimming pool technology sector, is seeking a diligent Brand Protection & Marketplace Compliance Analyst to join their remote team. This role is pivotal in safeguarding the company's intellectual property and ensuring adherence to marketplace regulations across key global regions, specifically North America and Europe. The successful candidate will be instrumental in maintaining the integrity of the brand's online presence and its distribution channels, working to prevent unauthorised sales and the misuse of valuable brand assets.

About the Role

This analytical position demands a sharp eye for detail and a proactive approach to online monitoring. You will be tasked with the crucial responsibility of scrutinising a wide array of online marketplaces. This includes, but is not limited to, platforms such as Amazon, eBay, Walmart, BestBuy, Home Depot, AliExpress, and Temu. Your primary objective will be to detect any instances of unauthorised sellers, violations of distribution agreements, or improper utilisation of the company's logos, images, and trademarks. Essentially, you will act as a digital guardian for the brand in the complex online retail landscape.

Key Responsibilities

Your day-to-day activities will involve a robust research and analysis process. You will be conducting in-depth online investigations to identify both new and existing unauthorised sellers operating on various e-commerce platforms. A significant part of your role will be to accurately classify these sellers and rigorously verify their authorisation status. Furthermore, you will be vigilant in spotting and documenting breaches of Minimum Advertised Price (MAP) policies, distribution agreements, territorial restrictions, and general marketplace compliance rules.

Collecting and organising evidence is a core component of this function. This will involve capturing essential details such as URLs, screenshots, seller contact information, and specific product data. You will be expected to maintain meticulously accurate records, including comprehensive seller databases and internal documentation. The insights gathered will be communicated through regular reporting, including daily updates and more comprehensive monthly "Voice of Consumer" reports. You will also play a role in developing and maintaining dashboards that track key brand protection metrics, enabling the business to monitor trends and identify areas for improvement in both research methodologies and reporting efficiency.

What They're Looking For

To excel in this role, candidates should possess a minimum of three years of relevant experience. This experience should ideally stem from backgrounds in data analysis, online research, e-commerce operations, compliance, or a closely related field. A strong command of Microsoft Excel is essential, with a particular emphasis on proficiency in using pivot tables for data manipulation and analysis.

Exceptional research, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities are paramount. The ability to meticulously scrutinise data and draw clear, actionable conclusions is highly valued. An unwavering commitment to attention to detail and data accuracy will be critical in ensuring the reliability of your findings. Furthermore, excellent written English skills are required for the preparation of clear and concise reports. You must also be comfortable working independently, adhering strictly to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and demonstrating a proactive attitude towards your responsibilities. Familiarity with the operational nuances of major e-commerce marketplaces, especially Amazon, will be a significant advantage.

In South Africa, roles involving brand protection and marketplace compliance often form part of a larger legal, compliance, or e-commerce operations department within established companies. While specific remuneration varies widely, analysts in this field can typically expect a competitive salary reflecting their analytical skills and the importance of safeguarding brand integrity. Career progression might involve moving into more senior compliance roles, managing larger teams, or specialising in specific areas of e-commerce risk management.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in data analysis, online research, e-commerce, compliance, or a related field.
  • Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables.
  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Strong written English and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and follow SOPs.
  • Familiarity with Amazon and other e-commerce marketplaces.
