Job Description

YouFibre, a prominent provider of high-quality broadband services, is on the lookout for an imaginative and skilled Graphic Designer to bolster their marketing team. This remote position offers an exciting opportunity for a creative individual to shape and amplify the company’s brand identity through compelling visual communication. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in developing graphics that not only resonate with the target audience but also effectively communicate YouFibre's commitment to delivering exceptional internet solutions to customers globally.

About the Role

This is a remote-based role, offering flexibility and the chance to contribute to a forward-thinking company from anywhere. The Graphic Designer will be a key player within the marketing department, tasked with conceptualising and producing a wide array of visual assets. The core of this role revolves around translating marketing objectives into visually engaging designs that enhance brand recognition and customer engagement. You'll be working in a dynamic environment where creativity and strategic thinking are highly valued.

Key Responsibilities

As the Graphic Designer, your responsibilities will encompass a broad spectrum of design-related tasks, all aimed at strengthening YouFibre's visual presence and brand narrative. You can expect to:

  • Develop and produce original graphic content for diverse marketing campaigns, ensuring they are both aesthetically pleasing and strategically aligned with campaign goals.
  • Collaborate closely with the broader marketing team. This partnership will involve brainstorming design concepts, understanding campaign briefs, and contributing your creative expertise to develop impactful visual strategies.
  • Maintain and enforce brand consistency across all graphic materials. This involves adhering to brand guidelines, ensuring a cohesive look and feel across all platforms and communications.
  • Stay abreast of the latest design trends, emerging technologies, and best practices within the graphic design and digital marketing landscape. This continuous learning is vital for keeping YouFibre's visual identity fresh and relevant.
  • Contribute to the overall visual storytelling of the YouFibre brand, ensuring that all design output effectively communicates the company's value proposition and commitment to quality.

What They're Looking For

YouFibre is seeking a candidate who possesses a solid foundation in graphic design principles and a proven track record of producing high-quality visual work. The essential requirements include:

  • Demonstrable experience in a Graphic Designer role or a closely related position, with a portfolio that vividly showcases your design skills, creativity, and ability to execute diverse design projects.
  • A high level of proficiency in industry-standard design software, most notably the Adobe Creative Suite (including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign), as well as familiarity with other relevant design tools.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal. This is crucial for effective collaboration with the marketing team, understanding project requirements, and articulating design rationale.
  • A strong aptitude for teamwork, demonstrating the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment, receive and provide constructive feedback, and contribute to a positive and productive workflow.
  • An understanding of how design contributes to broader marketing objectives and brand strategy.

In South Africa, the demand for skilled graphic designers remains strong across various sectors, including tech, telecommunications, and digital marketing agencies. While specific salaries vary greatly based on experience, portfolio strength, and the seniority of the role, freelance or junior graphic designer positions might typically range from R15,000 to R25,000 per month. With more experience and a stronger portfolio, this can escalate significantly, with mid-level to senior roles often commanding R30,000 to R50,000+ per month. The remote nature of this role aligns with a growing trend, offering opportunities for local designers to work with international companies. Progression often involves specialising in areas like UX/UI design, motion graphics, or moving into creative lead or art director positions.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Graphic Designer or similar role.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and other design software.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing design skills and creativity.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
