SAP RE FX Consultant

This organisation is seeking an experienced SAP RE-FX Consultant to join their team on a remote basis. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of SAP Real Estate Management, particularly its configuration and functional aspects. This role is crucial for a significant project, requiring the consultant to play a key part in the design, implementation, and ongoing optimisation of real estate processes. A significant focus of this position will be on German Value Added Tax (VAT) regulations and their specific application within the SAP RE-FX module.

About the Role

The core of this position involves leveraging your expertise in SAP RE-FX to support a complex project. You will be instrumental in translating business needs into effective SAP solutions. This includes designing and configuring the system to meet specific operational requirements, with a keen eye on compliance. Collaboration is essential, as you will work closely with various stakeholders, including business users, process specialists, and technical teams within an international project setting. The ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively in a remote environment is paramount.

Your responsibilities will encompass a broad range of activities related to SAP RE-FX:

• **Solution Design and Configuration:** Design, configure, and implement SAP RE-FX solutions that align precisely with business objectives and requirements. This involves setting up the system to manage various real estate functionalities.
• **German VAT Expertise:** A critical aspect of this role is the specialised configuration and optimisation of German VAT-related processes within SAP RE-FX. This includes:
• Configuring and optimising Input Tax Distribution according to § 15 (4) UStG.
• Configuring and supporting Input Tax Correction processes, including § 15a UStG, and managing the associated periodic runs.
• **Requirement Analysis:** Analyse intricate business requirements, dissecting them to produce clear and comprehensive functional and technical specifications.
• **Testing and Support:** Contribute to the testing phases of the project. This involves preparing test cases, executing them, and resolving any identified defects.
• **Stakeholder Advisory:** Provide valuable guidance to business stakeholders on best practices within SAP RE-FX and on aspects related to regulatory compliance.
• **Documentation:** Develop and maintain essential project documentation, such as functional specifications and configuration guides, ensuring all configurations are well-documented.
• **Collaboration:** Work effectively with technical teams to address enhancement requests and to manage interface requirements.
• **Workshops:** Support workshops designed for business users and process experts, which may require occasional onsite presence.

What They're Looking For

To excel in this role, you will need a proven track record in SAP RE-FX consulting. Key requirements include:

• **SAP RE-FX Proficiency:** Demonstrable, hands-on experience as an SAP RE-FX consultant with strong functional and configuration knowledge of SAP Real Estate Management.
• **German VAT Specialisation:** Proven expertise in configuring and optimising SAP RE-FX functionalities related to German VAT, specifically Input Tax Distribution (§ 15 (4) UStG) and Input Tax Correction (§ 15a UStG).
• **SAP Integration Knowledge:** A solid understanding of how SAP RE-FX integrates with other SAP modules, particularly Finance (FI), including FI-AA (Asset Accounting) and FI-AP/AR (Accounts Payable/Receivable).
• **Communication Skills:** Excellent command of the English language, enabling effective communication with business stakeholders, process experts, and technical teams at all levels.
• **Work Ethic:** The ability to operate independently, demonstrate self-organisation, and thrive in a remote working environment.
• **International Project Experience:** Comfort and experience working within international, cross-functional project teams.

While not mandatory, experience with Service Charge Settlement in SAP RE-FX and knowledge of technical interfaces to/from external systems (e.g., Planon) would be advantageous. A general understanding of German business practices or regulations would also be a plus.

• Proven experience as an SAP RE-FX consultant, with strong functional and configuration knowledge in SAP Real Estate Management
• Strong hands-on expertise in SAP RE-FX Input Tax Distribution (§ 15 (4) UStG)
• Strong hands-on expertise in SAP RE-FX Input Tax Correction (§ 15a UStG)
• Solid understanding of the integration of RE-FX with FI (e.g., FI-AA, FI-AP/AR) and related SAP modules
• Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to engage business stakeholders, process experts, and technical teams
• Ability to work independently and in a self-organized manner in a remote setup
• Comfortable working in an international, cross-functional project environment
