About the Role

Key Responsibilities
As a Portfolio Analyst, your responsibilities will be varied and crucial to the smooth functioning of the credit department. Your primary duties will include:
- **Supporting Credit Managers:** Directly assist credit managers with the day-to-day administration of their credit portfolios, ensuring all processes are managed efficiently and effectively.
- **Data Management and Analysis:** Undertake robust data management tasks, including the collection, organisation, and maintenance of portfolio-related information. You will be expected to analyse this data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- **Documentation:** Accurately document all relevant facts and activities related to portfolio administration, adhering to established procedures and compliance standards.
- **Stakeholder Interaction:** Liaise with various stakeholders, including IT departments, to facilitate data access, system enhancements, and issue resolution.
- **Communication:** Employ clear and concise written communication to report findings, present analyses, and document processes.
- **Interpreting Financial Information:** Develop and demonstrate a strong ability to interact with and interpret financial statements, extracting key insights relevant to credit assessment and portfolio health.

To excel in this role, candidates will need a solid educational foundation combined with relevant practical experience. The ideal candidate will possess:
- **Educational Background:** A completed Matriculation certificate is essential. Furthermore, a BCom degree is required, with a preference for degrees in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or Data Science. This academic grounding ensures a strong theoretical understanding of quantitative principles.
- **Experience:** A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a general business or credit-related environment is necessary. This experience should ideally include exposure to financial statements and the ability to derive meaningful insights from them.
