Job Description
Aprio, a globally recognised firm ranked among the top 20 CPA and advisory organisations, is currently expanding its remote team. They are seeking a highly skilled Accounting and Implementation Manager to bridge the gap between financial reporting requirements and complex operational technology. If you have a background in the hospitality sector and a passion for streamlining financial systems, this opportunity offers a unique way to combine traditional accounting expertise with modern SaaS implementation.
About the role
In this capacity, you will serve as a strategic lead for clients within the restaurant, franchise, and hospitality industries. As Aprio scales its global operations, this role becomes critical in ensuring that new client platforms are set up correctly from the outset. You will be responsible for the end-to-end management of system implementations and re-implementations, ensuring that every financial setup is robust, accurate, and scalable for the client's future growth.
This is not a traditional back-office accounting role. You will act as an internal consultant, translating the complex financial and operational needs of multi-entity businesses into practical, high-functioning system designs. You will need to balance technical accuracy with a deep understanding of the hospitality sector's specific reporting hurdles, such as inventory management, multi-location costing, and franchise-specific financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Your daily responsibilities will revolve around both the technical oversight of client systems and the mentorship of their teams. Key areas of focus include:
- Leading the deployment of accounting and management platforms for new and existing clients.
- Designing and maintaining the architecture for inventory items, expense categories, and complex costing structures.
- Maintaining ownership of financial reporting outputs to ensure data integrity and compliance with accounting standards.
- Conducting deep-dive audits of existing platform environments to highlight potential inefficiencies and implement smarter workflows.
- Developing and delivering comprehensive training programmes for client staff, ensuring they are comfortable with best practices and system updates.
What they're looking for
Aprio is looking for a professional who possesses a "translator" mindset—someone who can communicate accounting principles to non-financial stakeholders while managing the technical side of ERP software. To be considered, you should demonstrate:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.
- At least five years of professional experience specifically in ERP implementation or high-level accounting technology projects.
- Proven expertise in managing financial structures for multi-entity businesses within the hospitality or restaurant sectors.
- Technical proficiency with software such as Restaurant365, QuickBooks Online, or comparable industry-standard accounting platforms.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to lead training sessions and manage client expectations effectively.
For South African professionals, this role represents a step into the international outsourced accounting sector, which has seen significant growth in recent years. Roles of this calibre—combining system implementation with financial oversight—typically command competitive salaries commensurate with senior accounting or junior financial management levels, often ranging from R60,000 to R95,000 per month depending on the specific depth of experience and technical certifications. Since this is a remote role for a global firm, it offers an excellent pathway for those looking to pivot from traditional, locally-focused accounting roles into the specialised field of global financial advisory and system consulting.
Requirements
- Experience supporting multi-entity businesses in restaurant or hospitality sectors.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or related field.
- Five years of experience in ERP implementation or accounting technology.
- Hands-on experience with Restaurant365, QuickBooks Online, or similar platforms.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
