Job Description
A prominent South African financial institution is seeking a dedicated Banking Analyst to join its esteemed Private Wealth team in Johannesburg. This role is crucial in supporting the seamless management of a portfolio of high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients, ensuring they receive exceptional service and tailored banking solutions. You will be instrumental in fostering client relationships, facilitating complex transactions, and identifying opportunities for growth within an existing client base, while also contributing to the acquisition of new business.
About the Role
The core purpose of this position is to act as a vital support system for Banking Specialists and Relationship Managers within the Private Banking & Advisory division. You will be directly involved in the day-to-day management of client accounts, addressing their banking needs with professionalism and efficiency. This involves understanding their financial objectives and ensuring that FNB's comprehensive suite of banking products and services is effectively deployed to meet those needs. Your contribution will be key to enhancing client satisfaction and deepening their engagement with the bank.
Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will span several key areas, all focused on delivering a premium client experience and supporting business objectives:
- **Client Service and Relationship Management:**
- Proactively manage daily banking transactions and respond promptly to client service requests.
- Address and resolve account-related queries and service concerns with a high degree of efficiency.
- Ensure all client interactions align with the exacting standards expected of Private Banking.
- Collaborate effectively with various internal departments to guarantee the smooth execution of client instructions.
- Cultivate and sustain robust, trust-based relationships with HNW and UHNW individuals.
- **Product and Banking Solutions:**
- Implement and manage a range of financial solutions, including transactional accounts, savings vehicles, investment products, and cash management services.
- Facilitate foreign exchange transactions and international payment processing.
- Promote and support the adoption of digital banking platforms and online services.
- Provide assistance with client inquiries and applications related to lending and credit facilities.
- **Portfolio Administration and Compliance:**
- Assist in the diligent monitoring of client lending and investment portfolios.
- Track covenant compliance, manage collateral requirements, and ensure adherence to payment schedules.
- Prepare comprehensive reports on portfolio performance and status.
- Support the annual review process and facilitate portfolio renewals.
- Uphold strict adherence to all regulatory, compliance, and governance frameworks.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and documentation.
- **Business Development Support:**
- Actively identify opportunities to enhance existing client relationships and expand their banking relationships with FNB.
- Introduce clients to specialised teams for wealth management, lending, fiduciary services, and investment advice.
- Contribute to client retention strategies and relationship growth initiatives.
- Participate in client engagement activities and networking events to build the bank's profile.
What They're Looking For
To be considered for this role, candidates will need to meet specific educational and experiential benchmarks:
- **Qualifications:**
- A recognised qualification accredited by the Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA).
- A minimum of an NQF Level 7 qualification, such as a Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Commerce, Business Management, or a closely related field.
- Possession of a valid RE5 (Regulatory Examination 5) certificate.
- **Experience:**
- A minimum of three years of relevant experience within the Private Banking, Wealth Management, Financial Advisory, or a similar banking sector environment.
- Prior experience in servicing High Net Worth (HNW) and Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW) clients will be considered a significant advantage.

Qualifications
- FSCA Recognised Qualification.
- Minimum NQF Level 7 Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Commerce, Business Management, or a related field.
- RE5 Certificate
Experience
- Minimum 3 years' experience within Private Banking, Wealth Management, Financial Advisory, or a related banking environment.
- Experience servicing High Net Worth (HNW) and Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW) clients will be highly advantageous.
