Owning Quality and Driving Automation

As a Senior Quality Engineer, you'll step into a role with genuine ownership, working collaboratively with the existing Quality Engineering team to not only maintain but also enhance the quality of Tellent HR. A significant part of your remit will involve taking the lead in developing and executing their test automation strategy. This is a hands-on position where you'll be deeply involved in expanding end-to-end test coverage, with a particular focus on Playwright. Furthermore, you'll be tasked with raising the bar for backend testing, ensuring the robustness and reliability of their systems from the ground up.

Your journey within the first year will be structured to allow for deep integration and impact. In the initial three months, you'll immerse yourself in the Tellent HR product, its engineering methodologies, and current quality standards. You'll familiarise yourself with their testing frameworks and development workflows, gradually contributing to both automated and exploratory testing efforts. By the six-month mark, you'll begin to take ownership of quality for specific product areas. This will involve expanding Playwright test coverage and actively collaborating with developers to weave quality into the fabric of the development lifecycle. After a year, you are envisioned as a trusted quality partner, driving strategic improvements, championing automation advancements, and influencing the overall approach to quality as Tellent HR continues its growth trajectory.

Your Role in Product Development

This position calls for a balanced individual, equally adept at understanding intricate product behaviours and delving into technical complexities. You will be a vital link in the development chain, partnering closely with fellow QEs and developers. Your responsibilities will include:

• Collaborating with other QEs to implement and maintain the test automation strategy for Tellent HR, taking joint ownership as it evolves.
• Partnering with developers and QEs to embed quality assurance from the outset of the development process, fostering a two-way exchange of domain knowledge and shaping testing practices collaboratively.
• Designing, developing, and executing comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts to rigorously verify software accuracy and functionality.
• Developing deep product domain expertise to proactively identify risks earlier in the development cycle and guide quality-related decisions across the Tellent HR platform.

What You'll Bring to Tellent
