This pivotal role focuses on developing and executing strategic marketing plans that drive client acquisition and retention, ultimately enhancing the commercial value of the business unit. The successful candidate will be instrumental in fostering marketing excellence, innovation, and collaboration, while ensuring alignment with broader Group standards.

About the Role

This position requires a seasoned marketing professional who can translate business objectives into impactful IMC strategies for the CIB Investment Banking segment. You will be responsible for crafting and implementing comprehensive plans that capitalise on market opportunities, engage key stakeholders, and elevate the Liberty brand within the investment banking landscape. This includes managing a diverse range of marketing activities to support client relationships and business growth.

Key Responsibilities

The IMC Lead will play a crucial role in shaping the communication and marketing efforts for CIB Investment Banking. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing integrated marketing and communication strategies tailored to the specific needs and opportunities within the CIB Investment Banking BU/country segment.
  • Designing and executing campaigns and initiatives aimed at acquiring new clients and strengthening relationships with existing ones.
  • Enhancing the commercial value of the business unit through strategic marketing interventions.
  • Driving marketing excellence by identifying and implementing innovative approaches.
  • Cultivating partnerships and fostering collaboration across relevant internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensuring all marketing activities are aligned with Liberty Group’s overarching standards and brand guidelines.
  • Managing marketing projects from inception through to completion, including planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Overseeing and managing media, events, sponsorships, and broader communications efforts.
  • Utilising data and performance metrics to inform campaign development and measure effectiveness.

What They're Looking For

To excel in this role, candidates should possess a strong foundation in marketing with a significant focus on business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C) environments. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A first degree in Business Commerce or Marketing, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of robust experience in developing and implementing marketing plans, campaigns, and initiatives, ideally within a multi-product, multi-client, and multi-location context.
  • Familiarity with the financial services industry, including an understanding of market trends, customer behaviour, and the competitive landscape relevant to investment banking.
  • Proven experience in managing marketing projects from end-to-end, demonstrating proficiency in planning, execution, and reporting.
  • 3-4 years of hands-on experience across a broad spectrum of marketing activities, including media management, event marketing, sponsorships, and public relations.
  • A demonstrated ability to use data and metrics to guide marketing strategies and assess campaign performance.

In terms of behavioural competencies, candidates should be adept at adopting practical approaches, articulating information clearly, challenging ideas constructively, convincing others, and developing effective strategies. Skills in directing people, documenting facts, establishing rapport, exploring possibilities, and interacting effectively with various individuals are essential. The ability to interpret data, invite feedback, make sound decisions, manage tasks efficiently, provide insightful analysis, pursue goals with determination, resolve conflict, take initiative, and work collaboratively within a team environment is also highly valued.

Technical competencies required include strong skills in agency and partner management, including strategy and content management. Candidates should be proficient in analysing and interpreting information, executing brand and product activations, aligning with brand strategy, and effectively managing budgets and resources. Campaign planning and execution, understanding client value propositions, ensuring compliance, developing creative content, and demonstrating creativity are also important. The role demands expertise in developing an effective media mix, including digital, earned, and paid media, as well as leveraging events for marketing purposes. An understanding of market and customer insights, measuring marketing and communication effectiveness, managing messaging, and orchestrating omnichannel coordination are critical. Experience in owned media management and stakeholder engagement is also expected. A solid understanding of the financial services value proposition is a must.
