This role is designed for an experienced engineer who is ready to take ownership of significant components of OkWhen's production platform. About the Role

As a Senior .NET Software Engineer at OkWhen, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of their event technology platform. Your responsibilities will span the entire software development lifecycle, from initial design and meticulous building to rigorous testing, efficient deployment, and ongoing maintenance of production-grade software. You will be primarily focused on developing robust backend services and APIs, leveraging your expertise in C# and the .NET framework, including ASP.NET Core.

In addition to backend development, you will contribute to the enhancement and upkeep of web applications built with Angular and TypeScript. A significant part of the role will involve working with data, including the design, optimisation, and troubleshooting of SQL Server databases and complex queries. You will also have the opportunity to maintain and extend mobile applications using .NET MAUI, ensuring a consistent and high-quality user experience across various devices. A crucial element of the job will be investigating and resolving production issues efficiently, as well as actively working to improve the application's overall reliability, performance, security, and observability.

The Senior .NET Software Engineer will be tasked with a variety of critical duties:

• **Software Development & Maintenance:** Design, build, test, deploy, and maintain software solutions that power OkWhen's event platform.
• **Backend & API Development:** Develop and enhance backend services and RESTful APIs using C# and ASP.NET Core.
• **Frontend Development:** Build and maintain responsive web applications leveraging Angular and TypeScript.
• **Database Management:** Design, optimise, and troubleshoot SQL Server databases and queries to ensure efficient data handling.
• **Mobile Development:** Maintain and extend existing mobile applications developed with .NET MAUI.
• **Problem Resolution:** Investigate and resolve production issues promptly and effectively.
• **System Improvement:** Focus on enhancing application reliability, performance, security, and observability.
• **Quality Assurance:** Write automated tests to ensure code quality and maintain technical documentation for clarity and future reference.
• **Collaboration & Standards:** Participate actively in code reviews, contribute to establishing and upholding engineering best practices, and collaborate closely with product, operations, and event-production teams.
• **Technical Strategy:** Translate ambiguous business requirements into clear, actionable technical plans.

• A minimum of 7 years of professional software development experience.
• Substantial commercial experience with C#, the .NET framework (including .NET Core), and ASP.NET Core.

• Hands-on experience with .NET MAUI or Xamarin for mobile application development.
